911

On 911 I was in Mrs. Chapdelaine's 4th grade class in Jessie F. George School. All the teachers went into the hallway, whispering to each other about the events that just went down. When Mrs. Chapdelaine came back she asked if we all had rides home that day. After school I walked home to find my dad and my little brother's babysitter sitting on the couch watching the news. It was scary to see my father so upset about something. I sat and watched with them for hours, watching replays of the attacks over and over again.
I think we're still at war with Iraq because we want their oil. Iraq has a lot of natural resources that America wants and since we're the most badass country in the world we think we can just invade their country and take it. I think the attacks on 911 were an excuse for Bush to declare war on Iraq - I think he would've done it regardless because we're greedy and think we deserve things that don't belong to us.

Earth Day..COOL

Earht Day is pretty sick. Although I never celebrate, it's a great holiday for adults and kids alike.
Fun Fact? It takes 300 - 400 years for plastic to break down in a landfill.
somethings I learned about Haiti is that before it was a country it was a French colony. the colong was based on forestry and sugar. Also, the importation of African slaves was extremely prevalent in the Carribean at the time. Because of the January 12, 2010 7.0 earthquake, most of Haiti has been destroyed. In Brooklyn recently over 10,000 articles of bootleg clothing (such as Ed Hardy and Nike) has been confiscated and authorities have decided to send the contraband to Haiti. Those kids are gonna be looking fresh.

Hurricane Season

I really enjoyed the movie Hurricane Season. It was exciting to watch and the acting was extremely good. I didn't like all the blackouts - the space inbetween scenes were filled with just a dark screen which I didn't like. Forrest Whitaker is a great actor, along with Isaiah Washington and Taraji P. Henson. I think the movie should've focused a little more on the distruction caused by the hurricane and should've showed more scenes from what actually happened in New Orleans. I thought the boys did an excellent job of portraying their pain and grief due to the hurricane. Also, the basketball scenes were enjoyable to watch because I'm a basketball fan and they played very well.

Nicole's Bio

My name's Nicole and I'm a senior at Westwood High School. I enjoy long walks on the beach as well as shopping, going to the gym, and partying with my friends. I'm probably either going to Uconn or Binghamton next year but I'm really smart and like to learn I guess. I have a wonderful boyfriend and a great best friend. I'm extremely outgoing and talk a lot. I'm usually happy all the time.
